Dear Performers, Parents, Teachers, and Friends of the ARFPA,
On behalf of the board of directors for ARFPA, we are pleased to inform you that our 2021 Festival is currently in the works!
After much discussion and debate, we have decided to plan our 2021 Festival as a Virtual Festival.
Our goal and mission as a Festival organization is to plan a live, in-person festival. This is the best format for our learning-focused Festival. However, due to the unknown factors of a pandemic that is still impacting our lives, the 2nd best option is to plan for a Virtual Festival.
We hope that you will all be patient and kind as we work through all the details of planning this virtual event. There are still many unknowns that we are working to figure out. We will do our best to communicate as much as possible to ease the process for all involved.
For now, please mark your calendars:
We look forward to hearing and watching all of your performances. And yes, there will be a way for our adjudicators to workshop with each class. And all participants will have an opportunity to watch each other and hear the comments from the adjudicator.
Stay tuned for more information!
Kind regards,
Jennifer Harbour
Festival Coordinator
Airdrie Rotary Festival of Performing Arts
Welcome! to the Airdrie Rotary Festival of Performing Arts website. Our Festival serves musicians and performers in the Rockyview County in the following disciplines: Piano, Vocal, Musical Theatre, Choral, Band, Strings and Speech Arts. Our goal is to help participants learn through performing and receiving feedback in a non-competitive environment. [more about the Festival]
We continue to be supported by the Rotary Club as well as corporate and private sponsors from the community. We appreciate the generous support from everyone who has contributed. If you wish contribute to our Festival, we always welcome donations. Please see sponsorships for more details.
Our yearly Benefit Concert provides provincial candidates an essential performance opportunity before going to Provincials (Alberta Music Festival Association). Those who have participated at Provincials have expressed appreciation for the experience to attend and witness the calibre of performances at the provincial level.
Our Festival Board works hard to organize the festival each year. We appreciate all their efforts and also those who volunteer to help make this event happen. If you would like to volunteer and be a part of this growing Festival, please contact Bob Rodgers arfpavolunteer@gmail.com
At the Fall 2018 AMFA AGM, the AMFA and its member festivals voted to withdraw our membership from the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals (FCMF). View the letter of explanation from AMFA.
